Australian Players Making Impact In Premier League

July 2, 2014

The Australian players are doing wonders in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

In almost every team, there is one or two Aussie guys and they are making huge impacts, but, if one guy is to be chosen as the stand out performer out of all of them, it must be Glenn Maxwell.

The right handed batsman who was bought in the auction by the Kings XI Punjab franchise is repaying his owners big time. He is currently the highest run scorer in the tournament and thus, he has got the orange cap.

Maxwell has scored his runs at an average of 60 and a strike rate of close to 200 which is enough to suggest how devastating he has been.

The impressive thing about Maxwell’s batting is his innovation. Yes, he has used his muscle power and has smashed the ball out of the park, but, with that, he has played some very cheeky shots too. He has picked his spots pretty well in all the matches.

The switch hits that Maxwell has played have taken most of the people by huge surprise. He has hit sixes playing that shot and people are just not being able to understand how he manages to generate so much power after changing his stance and grip.

If luck had gone Maxwell’s way just a little bit, he would have had 3 IPL centuries under his belt by now. He made scores of 95, 89 and 95 in his first 3 matches respectively.

Tomorrow, Kings XI Punjab is going to take on the defending champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium and all eyes will be on Maxwell during that match. The fans would be hoping that he blasts the bowlers once again and provides them good entertainment.
