The newly appointed spin bowling coach of the Bangladesh cricket team, Saqlain Mushtaq, has said that Bangladesh has got two world class spinners in the form of Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzaq and if these two perform according to their potential in the upcoming World T20 Championship, Bangladesh might upset a few big teams in the tournament.

As per Saqlain, Razzak has got a slightly different bowling action. He has got an open chested action which helps him in bowling the arm ball very well. He is an experienced bowler and he varies his pace more often than not. On the other hand, Shakib bowls with a low arm, slinging action. He is not a big turner of the ball, but, he bowls with a very tight line and length and it is not easy to put him away for runs.

Saqlain is known for introducing ‘Doosra’ in world cricket. ‘Doosra’ is a delivery which is bowled with an off spinning action, but, it goes away from a right handed batsman. Saqlain had bowled ‘Doosra’ for the first time a few years back. After that, many off spinners tried to bowl this delivery.

The Bangladeshi all rounder Mahmudullah Riyad spent some time with Saqlain in the training session. After the training session, Riyad said that it was wonderful to work with one of the greatest off spinners that the game of cricket has ever seen. He knows a lot about spin bowling and his guidance would prove to be extremely valuable for the Bangladeshi spinners. As per Riyad, he desperately wants to learn how to bowl ‘Doosra’ from Saqlain.

Meanwhile, the former Bangladeshi captain and one of the best all rounders in world cricket at the moment, Shakib Al Hasan, has said that he is very excited to work under the guidance of Saqlain. As per Shakib, Saqlain is a master of spin bowling and the decision of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to appoint Saqlain as the spin bowling coach is quite appreciable.
